All construction is done (on this loan anyway, still lots of work in store for this house if we get our way). I am in awe of the before and after pictures of the outside of the house.

More productivity…
May 20, 2007I really didn’t think I’d be productive today….I guess I was wrong. I finally built the closet organizer for Bailey’s closet:

And just to give a good update of what my kitchen looks like now….

All that yellow stuff on that back wall needs to be taken care of somehow…it is where they took down the fermica(sp?) that was glued to the wall. I might just save up for some sheetrock….sounds easier than trying to patch that crap.

A fool and her money….
April 23, 2007I’m having definite problems at keeping a hold of money recently. But I get such cool things.
Here is the latest splurge….

Pretty huh? I just had to have it in my kitchen. And we had to get a better and matching dishwasher while we were at it. Now, we are planning to get a new range to match and maybe some decent looking cabinets to replaceĀ a few icky metal ones we have as soon as we get the rest of the money from the home improvement loan.
Oh, I am definately that fool who parts with their money too soon that my mom always bitches about.

A few pictures just cause

Quiet & Busy
February 12, 2007Yes, I’m still alive and kicking. We did get to go to Lincoln a few weeks back and Sabrina was here for a week. That was good. We have Bailey’s room ready to be carpeted. The painting isn’t quite done but we hope to have it finished by the time the carpet is ready to go in.

Now:
Picture the wall with no stickers as having the word “Bailey” and some hearts and butterflies painted on it. Tony is doing all the painting in this room. He still needs to touch up around the trim, paint the ceiling, and do the “Bailey” thing. Then we need to put up a new light fixture and get the new carpet in and that room will be done.
Other than that I have been doing anything I can other than homework. Jean has me doing some new projects that will pull in some money in the next few months. I have been helping Dad learn Swish. I decided to cut down to 3 – 1/2 days a week at my actual job so I have more time to do school stuff and these odd jobs. I feel a little less stressed. I will be carrying mail every week now instead of every other, to help pick up some of the slack. I get my new car this coming weekend (I’m very excited). Tony is still the acting store manager but that is going to be done here soon. He will get to relax a little for a little while.
Ok, I need to go try to fix Tony’s computer now and get to reading on my book for philosophy.

Sucks…
January 25, 2007I would just like to state that the flu sucks!! Not only for those with the virus but for those parents who have to take care of those with the virus. Michael has had it since Monday and is still going strong. He didn’t eat at all yesterday. We have been feeding him Tamiflu religiously. Yesterday Bailey started showing symptoms so we started her regiment of Tamiflu. I’m hoping it is all done by this weekend because we are supposed to go to Lincoln. Sabrina is going to be very disappointed if we have to cancel her vacation due to illness.

Wonderful!!
January 21, 2007It’s been a long week. There was a death in my family. My uncle died rather suddenly of lung cancer complications. The funeral was this weekend and everything was totally surreal.
In more cheerful news, we have the room painting nearly done (I only say nearly because we have to do a little touch-up work now). Here is the update:

This is the livingroom side of the wall.
No, it isn’t just the pictures, there are splotches where the color doesn’t look the same. That is my idiotic fault. I didn’t buy enough paint and had to try doing a color match after I ran out.
*shakes her head* Never again…
