So I’ve been a little pissy…ok, a LOT pissy about my internet connection as of recent (read the past 2 months). First it started with random loss of connection for 5 hours at a time and then it was slow. I am paying for a 7 Mbps connection which really didn’t mean much to me other than it should be pretty damn fast. Well, I finally got really irritated yesterday when it would take forever just to open a webpage. So I was checking into it and I had a downstream of 128 Kbps. I knew that was really slow so I called Qwest. Somehow I had convinced myself that I should be getting around 800 Kbps…apparantly my brain just wasn’t doing calculations well. The tech chick at Qwest was very concerned and acting like I should be much more upset than I was. We got the connection up to 800 Kbps by restarting the modem AGAIN and I figured that was about it but she said it was still slow. So I finally asked, “So what should I be getting?” I felt really dumb when she said, “7,000 Kbps.” WOW! Ok, so I’m not even getting 1/7th of the speed I should be??? They are dispatching a tech to come to the house and check lines because there are apparantly errors on the line too. So maybe tomorrow I’ll actually get the speed I’m supposed to have. I can’t believe I didn’t take the time to really figure out how slow my connection was going 2 months ago. Oh well, better late than never.
On a totally different subject, Rock Band is FAR too addictive.
